【原文】 薄命女偶遇薄命郎,葫芦僧误判。

贾雨村独坐案前，无人递上茶水，只得自行斟茶小饮，案几上堆满了卷宗，他随手翻阅，忽见一卷上书“葫芦庙案”，心中一动，遂拿起细读，再细观，见卷中记载“贾雨村”三字，顿时明了，这关乎贾府的纷争，他凝神细阅,直至卷尾。

卷宗中记载：“贾雨村，字梦阮，号雪芹，原籍人士，年方二十有五，因家道中落，流离失所，今因葫芦庙一案，遭葫芦僧胡乱判决，特来此状告。”

贾雨村阅罢，怒火中烧，提笔疾书：“此案判决混乱，显失公正，贾雨村不服，愿上呈状纸。”将卷宗收好,定于次日赴官府上诉。

【翻译】 The ill-fated woman meets the ill-fated man; the monk judge makes a mistake in the Gourd Temple case.

Jia Yucun sat alone before the desk, with no one offering tea. He had to pour his own. Seeing piles of scrolls on the desk, he flipped through them. Upon seeing one labeled "Gourd Temple Case," his heart stirred, and he picked it up to read carefully. Upon closer inspection, he noticed the name "Jia Yucun" written within, realizing it concerned the disputes of the Jia family. He focused and read until the end.

The scroll read: "Jia Yucun, style Menguan, alias Xueqin, native of this place. Twenty-five years old, due to the decline of the family, he wandered in a foreign land. Now, because of the Gourd Temple case, he was mistakenly judged by the monk judge, so he came here to file a lawsuit."

After reading this, Jia Yucun was incensed, and he wrote swiftly, "This case is judged in a chaotic manner, which is truly unfair. Jia Yucun is dissatisfied and wishes to appeal." He then carefully stored the scroll, intending to appeal to the court the next day.

【原文】 贾雨村看罢，心中大怒，遂提笔批道：“此案胡乱判案，实属不公，贾雨村不服，愿上告。”遂将卷宗收好,欲待明日上告。

贾母正与王夫人、凤姐等闲谈，忽见宝玉兴冲冲地走来，喜滋滋地说：“母亲，我听说葫芦庙里出了个糊涂的判官，判案极不公正，特来向您禀报。”

贾母闻言，不禁笑骂：“胡说！那葫芦庙的糊涂判官，如何会胡乱判案？”

宝玉笑道：“母亲有所不知，那糊涂判官判案，言语荒谬，非人言也。”

贾母道：“荒谬？荒谬即是胡言，那又有什么荒谬？”

宝玉道：“母亲，听我细细道来，那糊涂判官判案，往往不顾事实，只凭一己之见，他判一个案子，原告告被告偷窃，被告反指原告诬告，那判官却判定原告胜诉，这不是荒谬至极吗？”

贾母听后，忍俊不禁，笑得前俯后仰，说道：“我的傻孩子，你真是天真无邪！”

【翻译】 After reading this, Jia Yucun was very angry, and wrote in his own hand, "This case is judged in a chaotic manner, which is truly unfair. Jia Yucun is dissatisfied and wishes to appeal." He then put the scroll away, intending to appeal the next day.

Jia Jue was chatting with Lady Wang and Feng'er when Baoyu came in, looking cheerful and saying, "Mom, I heard someone say there's a foolish judge in the Gourd Temple, who makes unjust judgments. I came to inform you, Mom."

Upon hearing this, Jia Jue laughed and scolded, "Nonsense! How could the foolish judge in the Gourd Temple make unjust judgments?"

Baoyu said with a smile, "Mom, you don't know. The foolish judge makes judgments that are nonsensical, not like human speech."

Jia Jue said, "Nonsensical? Nonsensical is just foolish talk, what nonsensical?"

Baoyu said, "Mom, let me explain. The foolish judge makes judgments that are nonsensical, often ignoring facts and relying solely on personal opinions. For example, he judged a case where the plaintiff accused the defendant of theft, and the defendant accused the plaintiff of slander. The judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff. Isn't that nonsensical?"

After hearing this, Jia Jue couldn't help but laugh, almost falling over, saying, "My foolish child, you are truly innocent and naive!"
