【翻译】 I once visited De Mountain, where the towering peaks rise, the dense woods wind through secluded paths, ancient trees pierce the sky, and the babbling streams flow gently. I climbed upwards, gazing at the summits to quiet my mind, and peering into the valleys to forget about returning. The splendor of the mountains and rivers makes one forget the worries of the world.
行至半山，邂逅一位老僧，身着黑色僧袍，面容慈和，我好奇地问：“大师来自何方？此行有何要事？”老僧微笑回应：“贫僧释德山，自远方来，在此修行以求解脱。”听闻此言，我心中生敬,便随僧入寺。
【翻译】 Halfway up the mountain, I encountered an elderly monk, clad in a black robe, his face serene. Curious, I asked, "Where do you come from, venerable sir? What brings you here?" The monk smiled and replied, "I am Monk De Mountain, having come from afar to practice and seek enlightenment." Upon hearing this, I felt a sense of reverence and followed the monk into the temple.
在寺中，我与德山僧谈论生死、名利、道德等话题，他言辞锋利，见解独到，令我一听之下，顿悟许多，我问道：“大师，何为解脱？”德山僧回答：“解脱即放下心中执念，无牵无挂，如此心无畏惧，远离颠倒梦想，方能达到究竟涅槃。”
【翻译】 Within the temple, we discussed matters of life and death, fame and fortune, and morality. His words were incisive, his insights profound, which brought about an epiphany. I asked, "Master, what is liberation?" Monk De Mountain replied, "Liberation is the act of letting go of attachments in the heart, being unburdened. Without fear, one is far from delusion and dreams, and can ultimately attain nirvana."
听罢，我沉默良久，心中有所触动，我想，人生如梦，何必纠结于尘世的纷扰？德山僧的话语，如同一盏明灯，照亮了我前行的道路，我下定决心，从此放下执念,寻求内心的宁静。
【翻译】 After listening, I remained silent for a long while, deeply affected. I thought, life is like a dream, why should one cling to the troubles of the world? The words of Monk De Mountain were like a beacon, lighting the path before me. Therefore, I decided to let go of attachments and seek inner peace.
下山之后，我心境豁然开朗，仿佛重获新生，此后，我常以此感悟自勉，虽未能完全放下，但已有所领悟，每当想起德山僧,心中便涌起深深的敬意。
